Excellence Hub for a Smart Agriculture and Circular Bioeconomy

Towards a Sustainable Agrifood Sector in Widening Countries (and Beyond)

AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB supports the development of sustainable agriculture and circular bioeconomy solutions by connecting research, industry, and public stakeholders across multiple European ecosystems. Through innovation programs, pilot projects, mentoring, and SME support mechanisms, the project accelerates the adoption of circular technologies and strengthens collaboration across the agrifood value chain.

AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB is a Horizon Europe project focused on strengthening innovation ecosystems in sustainable agriculture and the circular bioeconomy across Europe. The project aims to establish a network of excellence hubs that connect research institutions, businesses, policymakers, and civil society to accelerate innovation in the agrifood sector and promote circular and sustainable practices.

By fostering collaboration between multiple regions and countries, the project supports the development of smart agriculture solutions, the valorisation of biological resources, and the transition toward more circular and resource-efficient food systems. It focuses particularly on strengthening research and innovation capacities in Widening countries, including Poland, Latvia, and Ukraine, while benefiting from the expertise of more advanced innovation ecosystems such as Spain and Belgium.

Through pilot projects, capacity-building activities, open innovation programs, and funding opportunities for SMEs, AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB accelerates the development and adoption of innovative technologies that improve agricultural productivity, enhance resource efficiency, and reduce environmental impacts. By creating strong cross-border partnerships and supporting entrepreneurship, the project contributes to building resilient regional ecosystems capable of driving long-term transformation in the European agrifood and bioeconomy sectors.
